Isn't this weather unbelievable! With more snow
on ground than I've ever seen since moving to Lancaster, PA, the sun is
now shining with promise of a beautiful day. BUT that implacable, and
unfortunately, to this point incredibly accurate, hourly weather
forecast has more snow starting at midnight and going through at least
noon tomorrow. SO with much reluctance, I am making an executive
decision that your safety on the roads is more important than my own
disappointment not to see such delightful fellow writers this month. Our
speaker Dave Bond has graciously agreed to reschedule his workshop for next month. So stay home, keep warm, and enjoy your Valentines weekend. Lancaster Christian Writers is officially cancelled for Saturday, February 15th, 2014.
Until next month,

Lancaster Christian Writers Welcomes Author Dave Bond This Saturday, February 15, 2014
Weather permitting (and we're trusting it will!), Lancaster
Christian Writers will be meeting Saturday,
February 15, 2014, at Lancaster Alliance Church,
210 Pitney Rd (off Hwy 30 across from Costco) from 9:30AM-12 noon ((registration opens at 9). Local
Lancaster area author David Bond will be sharing his own writing and life
journey with us in a workshop entitled "More Than Sales".
ABOUT THE
SPEAKER: When David Bond, already dealing
with Type 1 diabetes and epilepsy, lost his eyesight in 1988 less than two
years after marriage, he never anticipated his own personal challenges and
spiritual journey would lead to a writing career. First published in an
anthology, David now has five Christian
novels in print, including The Attaché,
whose main protagonist loses his eyesight in Iraq. David's unique blend of biblically
based fiction and intrigue delves into personal relationships where romance is
second to grasping God’s larger picture. In his, “All Things Are Possible”
trilogy, David weaves characters and story line of each book around medical
conditions he knows from first-hand experience, providing insight into
blindness, diabetes, and epilepsy in a way only someone who lives with these
conditions can.
WORKSHOP: David Bond believes strongly that a
calling to write is more than just about sales, but a gifting to ministry. In
his workshop, "More Than Sales," he will be sharing his own life
journey, along with a fascinating hands-on glimpse of the practicalities behind
writing entire books without being able to see the computer screen, and some
tips on story-weaving as well. If as a writer, you've ever wrestled with the
validity and purpose of your gifting, then the message of "More Than
Sales" is for you.
CRITIQUE
GROUPS: Come prepared for our usual critique groups as well.
WEATHER:
We will hope the groundhog is wrong,
and the weather will be warmed by Saturday. But unless roads are impassible, we
WILL be meeting. If you are not sure, check the LCW blogsite. Any cancellations
will be posted there. An e-notice will be sent out as well.
Until Saturday!
Blessings,
